BotDetect CAPTCHA Free - Limitations

The free version of BotDetect Captcha has certain limitations. If you want to remove them, you can purchase a license of the full BotDetect version.

1. BotDetect Trademark in CAPTCHA Images

The free version of BotDetect includes a randomized BotDetect™ trademark in the background of 50% of all Captcha images generated.

Upgrade: When using a paid BotDetect license, the trademark is not added to Captcha images, making them easier to read.

2. Demo CAPTCHA Sound

This means that for 50% of all Captcha challenges generated, the sound will not match the code shown in the picture. The free version sound is not suitable for real world use, and only allows you to test the sound functionality before buying, or turn it off completely if you don't need it.

Upgrade: The paid BotDetect license allows you to make your Captcha protection accessible with true sound functionality.

3. Fixed CAPTCHA Help Link

BotDetect v3 includes a new feature, where the Captcha image can be a link to a special help page explaining users its purpose and displaying relevant instructions. The free version always contains this link and is fixed to point to the official BotDetect website.

Upgrade: When using a paid BotDetect license, you can customize this link to point to any help page you find appropriate for your users, or turn it off completely.

4. Limited Number of Protected URLs per Domain

In the free version, you are not allowed to use Botdetect Captcha on more than 1000 Urls per domain. The number of different websites and domains on which the free version can be used is not limited, as long as the 1000 Urls per domain limit is respected.

Upgrade: The paid BotDetect license doesn't have this limitation, but the usage restrictions vary between different license types.
